I've been having unwanted blemishes for the past three years..?

And I seriously want as much advice as possible. I find home remedies work better than simple face scrubs bought in the stores. So far, I've done a ';Baking Soda and Water'; recipe, and a ';Raw Egg Mask'; one. Currently, 'to my knowledge', I'm drying up some of them by using a toothpaste.

I have been getting severe worries over my appearance, meaning that I'd be forever grateful for more suggestions on home remedies, due to the annual family photo coming up, and my lack of excitement about looking like a pizza.

Any suggestions?

Sincerely,

CasperI've been having unwanted blemishes for the past three years..?
What is causing these blemishes? There are several factors that contribute to the onset of skin blemishes in adults. Cosmetics and toiletries may clog pores. Such products include foundations, night creams, and moisturizers. You may need to change your make-up.

Increased sebum production is, to a great extent, caused by hormonal imbalance which is often why spots are often triggered by the onset of puberty or during pregnancy. Temporarily blemished skin can be the result of overloading your body with pollutants such as alcohol, coffee, tea and the chemicals found in tobacco smoke and failing to supply it with essential nutrients. Add to this stress - which can increase the production of some hormones that affect the sebaceous glands - a lack of fresh air, exercise, sunshine and sleep and it's not surprising it shows on your face.

Blemishes fall into two categories: blackheads or whiteheads. Both types of breakouts occur in the hair follicles. They develop when pores become clogged with sebum and other surface impurities, such as dead skin cells and bits of protein. Blackheads are not caused by dirt on the skin, but rather by excess oil left on the skin. If not removed within eight hours, this oil hardens into a plug. When the hardened oil is exposed to air, it is oxidized, giving it a black color. If bacteria comes into contact with this plugged pore, it can cause an inflammation, or a whitehead (the classic pimple).

You may need to change your diet or just generally take better care of yourself. get more sleep, eat more nutrional foods, get outside and enjoy the sunshine.I've been having unwanted blemishes for the past three years..?
if its really bad,

try going to your doctor..

or you can try over the counter products..
I have a remedy that you could use.

A few drops of lemon juice (which is a natural salicylic acid) with equal amount of honey, if you have dry skin, or cucumber juice if you have oily skin. Wash it off after 15 minutes.

Also I want to clarify about what Sarah said about there being no product other than Neutrogena's that had a 2.5% concentration of benzyol peroxide. Well, Proactiv also uses a percentage of 2.5%. I have used it and it says that on the label.

I hope you acne clears in time! Good luck!
I HAVE THE ANSWER TO ACNE!

I have a teen aged brother and me who have struggled with Acne for years...we tried many things, including Proactive and prescription medicines as well. Then, we found the solution.

Please don't shrug it off because this can help you a lot.

I was searching through the Internet and found www.acne.org. The site is owned by a guy named Dan. Dan, struggled with acne as well. He read medical books and tried many things on the market. Then, he found the way. BENZYL PEROXIDE! Now, I bet you have used it many times before but it hasn't done much right? Well, the reason is because everything on the market is 5% or 10% Benxyl Peroxide. These irritate your skin which causes MORE acne! (Touching it irritates it as well which causes more acne.) There is one thing on the market that has non irritating Benzyl Peroxide....2.5% Benzyl Peroxide. Netrogena on the Spot Acne Cream has 2.5. Nothing else on the market. You can get stuff on the Internet that have 2.5%! It is also on the site www.acne.org.

The regimen includes: First washing your face with a cleanser (suggested ones are on the site)

Then, drying and adding LARGE AMOUNTS or Benzyl Peroxide. In the beginning very little but you rank it up to 2 fingers after time.

Last, you moisturize, because the Benzyl Peroxide may dry up your skin. Suggested ones are on the website as well.

Go to www.acne.org and read about the clear skin regimen.

THIS MAN IS NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY...HE IS NOT SELLING ANYTHING!

He just wants to help. I have clear skin and so does Dan. There is also a forum where you can read more. The site teaches you how to pop a zit the right way and to find out other products that have work well.

I hope I Helped!

(My brother who is also a teen is clear as well. This regimen takes about 8 weeks to be completely clear but you will see gradually the acne go away. There is no cure for acne, so you have to do the regimen every day until acne goes away.)
