Does getting Sun (i.e. getting a tan) help reduce acne/skin blemishes?

I have heard getting a lot of color helps reduce acne but I was wondering if there is any evidence to this.Does getting Sun (i.e. getting a tan) help reduce acne/skin blemishes?
Sun exposure can temporarily dry up the oils in the skin (clearing up your complexion). If your skin tans, this may reduce the appearance of redness around any blemishes. However, when you stop going out in the sun, your acne will flare up worse than before. Also, you have to be careful about reactions to tanning products. They can clog your pores or cause an allergic reaction.

Over-exposure to the sun causes more harm than good in the long run, and you will end up going from acne straight to wrinkles if you're not careful! I think that most dermatologists will agree that a small amount of sun exposure every day is actually healthy and can improve the condition of your skin.Does getting Sun (i.e. getting a tan) help reduce acne/skin blemishes?
I'm not sure about helping acne but to some extent it damages the skin, but only over quite a long period of time. So you can either have acne now and younger looking skin when you are older, or fresher looking skin now and look older later on in life. It sucks :(.

Luckily I have pale skin and don't tan so my decision has been made for me.

If your acne is bad, see your doctor, if it isn't then just make sure you wash your face twice a day and put on a night gel before you go to bed. If you wear make up, make sure it doesn't clog pores =]

Hope this helps :)
