How can a mailing label be removed from a magazine cover with out blemishing the magazine?

I like to collect certain magazines but they always seem to come with a stick on mailing label. Does anyone know of a sure fire way to remove these labels without ripping or injury to the mag..How can a mailing label be removed from a magazine cover with out blemishing the magazine?
Try picking at the corner of the sticker until it curls, then carry on ';screwing'; it up until you get it all the way. The reason it doesn't affect anything is because it makes small, light movements.
