When is it appropriate to wear a band aid to cover a blemish?

I shaved over a pimple on my chin and it looks quite gross. It might get infected. I'm wearing a small band aid over it. Is this better than leaving it open?When is it appropriate to wear a band aid to cover a blemish?

NEVER i repeat NEVER put a band aid on a ';blemish'; just admit that its a ZIT!!! hehe but anyway just wash it, put some kind of acne stuff on it and only time will help
